Paralympics Center

The Paralympics Center project is oriented to create architectonically and functionally a very interesting building for citizens and disabled athletes. The aim of the project is to provide the best conditions for sport and physical development of disabled persons. The building will consist of the social part ?halfway living? (temporary living for people after accidents), sports section (sports hall with barrier-free auditorium) and the administrative part (offices, conference rooms, gallery).

One of the main task of the Center is in particular the social integration of disabled into everyday life, and so the people after accidents could learn to live everyday life without major problems. At the same time the paralympic athletes could prepare themself in the Center for the Paralympic Games, World or Europe Championships, for the World Cup and other competitions at national and international level. It is important to support disadvantaged people physically and also mentally in order to stop loosing the verve or motivation in their life. Some of them need "only" to encourage and to find a system already set, others need to make sense of those things happend to them and so they have to begin from the start, but to both of them would like the Paralympics Center serve the best and the longest.

Target of the Center

There is a necessity to start doing more for disabled people in Slovakia. It is therefore necessary to build a center where these people can focus and achieve their physical and mental development without any barriers. The target of the project is to build a center for athletes with disabilities, but also for the top athletes and sporting public, to support young people in sports , to offer employment in sports and social sphere as well as to offer work opportunities for disadvantaged people.

It is also necessary to offer quality services and instructions to return to life after injuries to people who hardly adapts to everyday life, give them a chance to learn, to properly choose the sports discipline in proportion to their disability and help them, if inetersted, get into a professional level. Paralympic Centre would like to participate into the help of the disadvantaged and socially weaker citizens by providing benefits and discounts for them.
